Image result for @NDOCHAMP For Blog 3 I choose the Bodybuilder Robert Wilmote as my cultural artifact due to him being a humongous individual, "like nobody should be that size". In his video hes training with Larry wheels another Bodybuilder and their goal is to achieve 500lbs on incline dumbell press. He makes people at the gym look small compared to the amount of weight he puts 250lb dumbbells on Larry for the first time expecting him to lift them as if it were a warm up. As he goes to lift this incredibly heavily weight he chants all types of nonsense like when he grabs the dumbbells and says for them to "come here suckas". If you watch the video in the link below you will see that he a bit extra when it comes to hitting the weight which is sort of funny when he yells out "Power" to remind himself that he's this unbreakable force that cant be stopped. He tries to gives some inspirational pep talk as hes moving on to the next workout when he says to " Muscle through the God Damn Pain." But he demonstrates how eating right and working out can get you your desired body. This video is showing how men are excessive to working out and having the biggest shoulders and biceps. It seems that nowadays people only want to lift heavier weight with fewer repetition as opposed to Light weight with more repetition so that you can retain more control to reduce injury. But from the looks of it these guys have so much muscle that the likelihood  of them getting injured is unlikely. But it fits the stereotype of men being able to achieve that size of buffness without having to be judged in a  negative way. For example we often would see a big buff women working out at the gym because its not "ladylike" or would portray them as being a man in a women's body. Another thing that stood out to me was the lady who was just sitting and recording as the two men were lifting weights. But through watching this video opened my eyes up to how gender roles are still portrayed in the eyes of male dominance.

Blog 2

Prompt 1: I chose this scene from the movie Hidden Figures starring Taraji P. Henson as (Katherine Johnson), Octavia Spencer as (Dorthy Vaughan), and  Janelle Monae as (Mary Jackson). These three brilliant African American Women in the 60's struggled to rise above the challenges of racial segregation and prejudice ways while working at NASA. The reason why I chose this particular film is because it shows how segregation just not with racism but how gender equality wasn't being given to those women that worked there.
Prompt 2
Authorship: Gender inequality and racial discrimination is  being shown in the text. The challenge of having to use a restroom that's almost an hour away, while working a job that barely pays and having to come home to a whole family was an everyday obstacle for these women of color. Although they didn't look the part they had the mindset to overcome the prejudice looks and having the door slammed in their face when they wanted working conditions to improve.
Format: Although Segregation has already been an issue for them and if you seen the movie at the beginning the three women are stranded when their car breaks down are harassed by a white officer. This shows how the law enforcement could easily take advantage of people of color and how in that time there was nothing they could really do if the officer decided to arrest them just for the simple fact that they were Black women. Being fed up with having white only restrooms in the facility made it hard for Katherine Johnson gives a speech to her boss Mr. Harrison when he finally notices she has been mysteriously gone for 40 minutes a day. This was due to her having to run a half mile and back every time she needed to use the restroom, which is unfair rather if she was white would only have had to walk down the hall. She explains how she was being worked like a dog with very little pay and on top of that has to go home to her three girls.
Audience: For people of color this is looked at as a message of how socially unequal society in the mid 1900's was compared to white men. This also affected the way women were being subjected to being second class citizens compared to men.
Content: This video shows the unnecessary actions that these black women have faced while working at NASA while having to support their community and family. This showed me how being a black women working for NASA would probably be treated with the same amount if she were a librarian due to the fact that if you weren't white and free at that time you weren't important.
Purpose: The purpose of this movie was to show how tough a Black women can be and how she tolerated all of the little things that dealt with racial inequality such as nobody wanting to touch the coffee pot. The message of having racial discrimination and sexism as obstacles for these three women overcame by working hard with their brilliant minds shows me that anyone is capable of achieving any title.

While doing research on rape culture I found an article that dealt with the topic reasonably written by Kate Harding who is co-editor of  "Nasty Women: Feminism, Resistant, and Revolution in Trumps America." It discusses the topic of normalized unwanted kissing and groping are in today's society and is in the process of being minimized. This was considerably fighting the topic of male dominance over femininity. This fits into the gender role and how it demoralizes women's social status in society and sets these traditional values in way that makes women be portrayed as inferior to men.
It is said that sexual harassment and how assaults are simply too widespread for democrats. A solution to this matter would be for us to respond in a way that helps us develop some type of pact for a meaningful change. This woman has accused Franken has assaulted her and concludes the stereotype that sexual harassment and assault. Some might say that the topic is hypocritical due to Republicans declining to hold Franken accountable for his crime. Leann Tweeden said that "we need to hold perpetrators of sexual assault accountable for their actions" (Tweeden, 2006).
It was debated over if he should have felt like he can leverage many of these advantages of being an older more experienced famous white man  which could be identified as a sign of ignominy. The main issue is to root out all sexual harassment but to get rid of most of it by being a selfless champion to women"s rights. Leeann Tweeden said in her story on how she felt like he betrayed her trust by overstepping his limits as a man.
My opinion on this idea of masculinity being superior to women's morals is not how we should base our society off of. Its good to see that more and more women are stepping up to become social leaders and are fulfilling the roles of men. Based off the cultural diamond this social world is more leaned towards males and how they exert themselves on women. As you can see in this cultural topic is being looked upon as male dominance over a female exist in our present society. Due to this current situation men are the creators of  rape culture yet, women are the receivers to this tragic scenario. In order for us to live at peace with one another e must accept that we are all equal beings no matter what gender, race, relgion, or culture.
